Come and see what’s growing at

As one of Canada’s TV gardening experts, I felt it was time to open a unique garden center that showcases the products I’ve grown to love throughout my career. I decided to create this garden-lover’s refuge in the heart of Prince Edward County, near Wellington, Ontario. This is a retail store filled with all the items that I love to use in my own home and is for those who want to treat themselves to something new, something special or something never tried before. This space caters to anyone who loves gardening and the outdoors, chefs or home cooks who like to try different things or anyone curious about gardening and starting for the first time. This is not your average spot to buy landscaping plants for your front yard, but instead a space that provides you and your family with the experience of gardening, experimenting and learning about farm-to-table. We take the guesswork out of gardening.
Through our local partnership with Edible Antiques, we grow and conserve heirloom varieties of vegetables and flowers and make them available for purchase in the form of plants and seeds. Our seed wall includes more than 400 varieties of seeds from Canada from coast to coast. You can pick your own planter (self-watering or standard or high end) and custom build your own mini-garden whether you live in a house, apartment or want something for your balcony! Maybe you want rare herbs and vegetables with flavours that have been lost or just want to try growing your first tomato with some basil for the perfect salad? Or maybe something for home! We have the perfect plants just for you. And while we are preparing your garden, you can enjoy a treat from our resident food truck, Flossie’s – on us!
For years, experienced gardeners have had to hunt far and wide for products that support their passions. My store provides products that you just can’t find anywhere else. I’ve brought in tools from around the world like pruners and secateurs made in Japan from the same steel they use for samurai swords. I’ve found two lines of hand tools; one from the Netherlands and the second from a Mennonite forger; both of which are created by hand with the care and attention ensuring that they can be passed down for generations to come. In the store you will also find a library of garden books to borrow or buy, gardening décor, planters, pots, and birding equipment. But don’t worry, we don’t take ourselves too seriously as we also have chicken sweaters, hipster products, trendy straw hats and farming toys for the kids. Make sure to check out our ‘Heal with Plants’ section of products all derived from plant materials that give natural/chemical free solutions for the mind, body or soul.
I am passionate about gardening and my intent is to have anyone walking through our doors feel that way too. Come and see the garden center of the future and see what’s growing at Carson’s Garden + Market.
